How Clarus LIS protects your laboratory's data

Your records stay on your laboratory's computer. Important actions are recorded, final reports can be checked, and a backup is taken and verified every day.

What this solves

Know where your patients' data is, and who touched it

Review how patient records, reports, permissions and backups are handled before you rely on the program.

  • Shared passwords
  • No record of who changed a result
  • Report copies nobody can check
  • Backups nobody has tested
  • Patient records on a server you do not control

What the program does

Controls built into the program

🔐

Permissions by role

Each member of staff has an account, and each action checks the permission it needs.

🧾

Tamper-evident audit trail

Important actions are recorded in a chained trail that names an altered entry. Managers can search it and export it.

🔳

Reports you can verify

Once your laboratory has published its website, a QR code on each final report opens the laboratory's own current copy, and the code of an amended report stops verifying.

💾

A verified backup every day

A backup is taken every day and each one is checked for integrity. You can rehearse a restore into a separate test database, and have a second copy written to a drive you choose.

🔏

Patient results sealed end to end

A report a patient opens by QR is encrypted end to end, so the server hosting your website cannot read it.

🏠

Your records on your computer

Patient records are kept in the database on your laboratory's computer, and daily work needs no internet.

Common questions

Data protection FAQs

Does Clarus LIS replace the laboratory's data policy?

No. The program provides the controls; each laboratory still needs its own written policy, and staff who follow it.

Why does QR verification matter?

It lets a patient or a physician compare a printed report with the laboratory's own current copy. A report that was amended no longer verifies under its old code.

What if the computer fails?

Keep the second backup copy on a drive outside the computer. The program writes it there after each verified daily backup, and says so when it could not.
